Backyard Design Ideas and Why It Is Important to Choose a Landscape Designer

A client in Orlando, Florida recently had an existing home under long term renovation. Due to the extended construction and no irrigation for months the majority of the landscape was lost. The property was in need of new backyard design ideas, landscape design, irrigation design, and hardscape design.

The Orlando, Florida landscape design team started by removing all existing weeds, grass, and dead plants. Larger trees and specimens that could be saved were carefully pruned. The landscape designer then utilized new backyard design ideas including incorporating drought tolerant, Florida friendly plant material.

The new backyard design ideas included a new irrigation system to minimize rust staining on the house and walkways. New Hunter Rotors and Rainbird spray heads were installed to provide proper coverage for all grass and shrubs. A new rain sensor was also installed to conserve water and not over water the new landscape.

The backyard design presented a challenge with a drain taking up the majority of the backyard. New hardscape designs utilizing an outdoor deck were installed to better use the space. Dwarf clumping bamboos were provided to soften the area and provide privacy.

Finally, the Orlando, Florida landscape design team provided a final grade of the property and installed drought tolerant, weed free zoysia grass to complete this corner lot landscape conversion.
