We retained BLG for a complete landscape renovation of a +6,000 square foot lake front home situated in a gated community in Windermere, FL. ... read more The renovation included all surrounding sides of the house / property and pool area and also included nearly 70 lighting elements and landscape rocks as well. Robert is the owner of BLG and his landscape design plans were meticulous and thorough (including legends, sizes, gallons, location / lighting markings, etc.); the plans addressed all of the details / questions of our HOA (known to be very inquisitive / stringent and challenging to deal with). His plans included tremendous variety (i.e. things we did not know existed) and color and also addressed mature privacy screening needs (e.g. issues of gaining substantial additional privacy over an existing 6-8 foot mature hedge); it was a great design (beautiful and creative) that essentially needed no revisions. A few noteworthy things if you are considering BLG for a significant project: (1) When they start your project, they will not leave or take days off until it’s done. They arrive and leave at consistent times. They do things by the book and are not shlocky. (2) They are very firm on price, but that works both ways when the work unfolds. For example, when certain inevitable wrinkles come up on the job, you will not be hit for more money. They stand by their estimate and will eat additional costs if need be (assuming of course you are not the one making unforeseen changes to the plans). (3) During the entire install, a foreman is on property every day (Danny); he is great to work with, eager to please, approachable, and, communicates very well. They really make you feel like they are there to get it right and want to make sure you are happy. You never feel like you are bothering anyone if you have a question or a tweak you want made. (4) They have great attention to detail, including on the small things (and without you thinking or asking). For example, they bring in a porto potty for their crew; they paint all of your exposed sprinkler pipes black (so they better blend); they paint exposed pipes near landscape elements brown so they better blend; any wood that supports newly planted palm trees, they also paint brown to look more natural, etc.; when sod is put down, they circle around with a masher to make sure no lumps and completely level, etc. I would definitely hire them again and you can trust them with a sizable job, especially if you are an attention to detail kind of person!
