Landscape Design for an Open Common Area in Orlando, Florida

A custom home builder was recently in need of landscape design for an open common area in Orlando, Florida. The area was in need of landscape design, hardscape design, irrigation design, and landscape lighting. This would help to make the area enjoyable and inviting for the residents of this Dr. Phillips community.

The design started with the BLG team installing a retaining wall that included seating walls with decorative columns. Textured brick pavers were installed to provide a solid patio and walkway including a natural gas fire-pit for cool nights. These hardscape elements created an intimate space for residents to relax and enjoy nighttime fireworks from the surrounding theme parks. A cedar pergola covering neighborhood mailboxes was designed and installed nearby for residents to enjoy as well.

The team continued by installing a lush landscape that balanced privacy with openness to provide panoramic views of the lake and sunsets. Colorful shrubs, grasses, and flowers were used to compliment the large palm trees and hardscape elements.

Finally the team installed Alliance LED landscape lighting inside retaining walls & columns, on focal points and walkways to bring this gathering area alive during the night.
